Privacy at CareersNZ
Privacy is the whole point of CareersNZ. This page explains, in plain terms, what we show, what we never show, and the control you keep over your details.
What employers can see
When you are in the talent pool, an employer with a matching role sees a privacy-minimal card: your first name, your location or region, any licences and endorsements you have added, your sector of interest, and a short bio. That is all.
What employers never see
Your surname, email address and phone number are never shown to an employer while you are simply in the pool. These details are shared only when you choose to apply to a specific role. Until that moment, the first move always stays yours.
Your control
- You choose which sectors and regions make you visible
- You can update your details at any time
- You can withdraw from the pool at any time, using the link in any CareersNZ email or by contacting us
- Applying to a role is always your decision
How we handle your information
We use your details only to match you to relevant roles and to let you apply when you choose to. We do not sell your information. Employers are verified New Zealand businesses, which keeps the pool trustworthy. If you have a question about your data or want it removed, email hello@careersnz.co.nz and we will help.
